The History of Coastlands Removals

In 1987 Ron and Anka Crooke saw a need for an antique/second hand business in the growing township of Batemans Bay. For the first two years Ron gathered goods locally, selling them in a small shop. He came to realise that attendance at auctions in Sydney would considerably expand his range of goods and made the decision to purchase his first truck. As his business expanded, so did his premises and by 1992 Ron was running a large shop offering antiques, new and used furniture.

On his many trips to gather stock, Ron was often asked to transport small loads. He also began to specialise in the transportation of pianos and antiques. With the antique and second hand business relying mainly on tourists in summer Ron started to look at removals in the slower months and by 1994 removals made up almost half his turnover.

Ron kept upsizing and upgrading his truck to meet the growing demand for removals work and by the time the shop was demolished in February 1999 he had an established removalist business to continue with.

As the business continued to grow, Ron added a second truck and was fortunate enough to come across Glenn McGrath, a dedicated hard working asset to the company. Glen is greatly liked by the customers and never short of a smile.
